The Suzano Pulp and Paper Company is one of the largest eucalyptus pulp companies in the world. They pride themselves that they use renewable forestry base paper products, making them a leader in this industry and globally respected. Suzano have several plants located around Brazil, this one is located in Mucuri, Bahia.
Netherland Brazil’s local distributor, Mr. Paulo Andrade of Aterel was the applicator on this project. Radcon Formula # 7® was applied to all concrete surfaces within the salt water tanks including internal pillars.
As the tanks will be holding salt water it was imperative that the waterproofing material be able to resist the ingress of salts. Radcon has undergone numerous tests for chloride ingress in a range of countries around the world and has been conclusively proven to prevent the ingress of chloride into concrete. For testing results, see: http://www.radcrete.com.au/library
Radcon’s resistance to chloride ingress has also been proven with nearly 30 years use “in the field”. Radcon has been used to prevent de-icing salts damaging concrete bridges in a range of countries through Europe and in parts of North America. Likewise it has been used to protect concrete from chloride ingress in desalination plants in the Middle East.
Radcon #7® can withstand huge water pressures, it was tested by SINTEF in Norway to 400 metres, at this depth the control block of concrete failed whilst the Radcon #7® treated sample continued to withstand the immense pressure, click here to see testing.
