The Masbate Project is located on the island of Masbate approximately 350 kilometres south of the State capital, Manila.
CGA Mining Limited acquired the Masbate Gold Mine in 2007 and then awarded Leighton Asia a contract to design and construct a gold processing plant on the island. The contract involved the design and construction of roads, utilities networks and buildings, including processing plant, offices and camp accommodation.
The Masbate mine is now the largest operating gold mine in the Philippines.
Radcon was chosen by Leighton Asia to waterproof the power plant. Radcon increases concrete hardness from 6 to 8 on Moh's scale, making it as hard as granite. This it is the perfect choice for tough environments such as mine sites.
